Sally Green – Half Bad

  • SumoMe

Half Bad: cover of first novel by Sally Green, predicted to be next Harry Potter or Twilight SagaHalf Bad by Sally Green is a breathtaking debut novel about one boy’s struggle for survival in a hidden society of witches.

You can’t read, can’t write, but you heal fast, even for a witch.

You get sick if you stay indoors after dark.

You hate White Witches but love Annalise, who is one.

You’ve been kept in a cage since you were fourteen.

All you’ve got to do is escape and find Mercury, the Black Witch who eats boys. And do that before your seventeenth birthday.

Erin’s Review

I received this book from Penguin Teen Australia in a showbag at my VA movie meet up & I was very intrigued in the cover. As soon as I started to read this book it become an obsession. The style of writing that Sally Green has done with this book is entrancing. The short chapters and jumping to and fro made you want to read it non-stop.

Nathan is a strong character and what this young boy goes through is a true life struggle. Being born a half white and half black witch has made his life hell. All white witches are good but black witches are known to be evil. He not only feels like an outsider to his own family but he is hated right away because his father was an evil black witch who has killed many witches including Nathan’s half brothers and sisters father.

As I finished this book I was so excited for Nathan and I’m looking forward to book two in the series Half Wild (Half Life Trilogy #2)
